Wanda Sue Johnston, 78, of Yakima, Washington passed away October 13, 2017 from complication of diabetes at Landmark Care Center. Wanda Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Wilbur C. Johnston and second husband Ken Schmoe and her brother Albert Gene Doshier.
Wanda Sue was born in Yellville, Arkansas on January 26, 1939 to Eldridge & Ottie May Burrows Doshier. Sue attended Naches Valley Schools and Yakima Business College. Sue met Wilbur Clarence Johnston in 1955 and they were married March 26, 1956 in Naches, Washington. Their 53 year marriage resulted in four children: Ava (Rusty) Tillett, James (Becki) Johnston, Timothy (Yvonne) Johnston and Randy (Connie) Johnston; 9 grandchildren: Heather (Scott) Catterall, Anthony Tillett, Morgan Johnston, Grant Johnston, Ronald Johnston, Jason Johnston, Adam (Kylie) Johnston, Luke Johnston and Claire Johnston; and 10 great grandchildren. Mom leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Sue worked at Libby’s Cannery and Delmonte, but her favorite job was working for Richard and Michele Roux as their daughter’s nanny (Christine and Nikki Roux) for a number of years.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Valley Hills Funeral Home Chapel (2600 Business Ln., Yakima).
