Victoria Carranza

Victoria Hernandez Carranza, age 69, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014. Victoria was born in Eagle Pass, Texas where she was raised with her 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She married and loved the late Francisco Carranza for 14 years. She continued to make her life and support the 10 of us in Granger. She worked at Del Monte for 26 years. Our mom was a very loving, strong, independent and proud woman. She was a sister, aunt, mom and grandmother. She taught us many things to get us ready for life and family. To be respectful of others, compassionate in all we do, and to learn to take care of ourselves in order to care for others. She was strict with our upbringing and disciplined us with resolve. We didn’t know it then, but she was making sure that we could always move forward regardless what crossed our path. She reminded us of our greatest strength; Faith in the Lord, love and support for each other and to always work for our children’s future. Victoria is survived by three sons, Odilon Carranza of Washington, Francisco Carranza of Arizona, and Rafael Hernandez of Washington; six daughters, Eliticia Sanchez, Sulia Carranza, Alicia Carranza, Elisa Carranza-Mendoza, Vivian Carranza all of Washington and Victoria Hernandez of Arizona; two brothers, Rodolfo Hernandez of Texas, and Reynaldo Hernandez of Minnesota; and a sister, Velia Becerril of Texas. Recitation of the rosary will be at 6 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2014 at Valley Hills Funeral Home of Zillah. Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday January 11, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Granger. Burial will follow in the Zillah Cemetery.
