Tony Schneider

Tony F. Schneider died peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 24th at the age of 84. Tony was born January 25th, 1932 in Kennel, South Dakota to Mary and Joseph Schneider. He married Jane on February 2nd, 1957 at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Yakima, Washington. After serving in Korea he worked as a barber. He and his brother, Benny owned Broadmead Barber Shop in Yakima. He later became an orchardist. He was proud to have served his country. He enjoyed training horses, raising livestock, and playing German music with his brothers in the Schneider Brothers Band. He was a member of Resurrection Church for many years. Tony is survived by his wife Jane of 59 years, children Luisa (Dennis) McLoughlin, Joy Gay, Lisa (Rich) Devlin, Thomas (Chela) Schneider, and Douglas Schneider. Grandchildren Aaron (Brenda), Chris (Kendra), Nikki, Rachelle (Andrew), Chandler, Jose, Diego, Isabela, Michaela and Asia. Great grandchildren Evelyn, and baby to be born in January. Siblings Frank (Irene), Adam (Rosalie), Roy (Cynthia), Paul (Marie), and Sister-in-law Marie. Numerous nieces and nephews. Tony is preceded in death by his parents, brother Benny, sister Minnie, and granddaughter Camila. Recitation of the rosary will be Wednesday, September 28th at 6:30 PM at Resurrection Catholic Church in Zillah. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, September 29th at 10:00 AM at the church followed by military honors and a luncheon. Entombment at the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in Yakima will be at 2:00pm.
