Tak Shing Hui, 81 (1935-2018) of Yakima passed on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 due to cardiac complications.
He was born in Tai Sun of China on July 9, 1937 and lived with his aunt and uncle most of his childhood. Eventually, he moved to Hong Kong and married Suet Kan. Few years after that, they moved to United States for a chance of the American dream. He became a chef for numerous Chinese restaurants in Yakima until we got the opportunity to have our own restaurant, China Grove in Sunnyside for 18 years.
He loved his family. He loved spending time with them. Whether on a weekly lunch, weekend outings, or speaking with them on the phone. His family was his life.
He is survived by his wife, Suet of Yakima, his sons John and wife, Fen of Bellevue, Hei and wife, Ping, his daughters, Anna and husband, Shawn of Bellevue, Lisa of Yakima, Wendy of Lynnwood, grandchildren Shana, Amelia, Aisling, Sophia, and Ling. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one grandson, Joshua.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 29 at 12:00 noon at Valley Hills Funeral Home (2600 Business Lane, Yakima). Burial will follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
