Sharon Kay (Broderson) Geddie, age 67, of Yakima passed away on February 4, 2017. She was born on September 19, 1949 to the late Alfred H. Broderson and Marjorie (Myrtle) L. Broderson (Miley). She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Dennis Broderson, Richard Broderson, Alfred Broderson, Jerry Broderson, Baby Girl Broderson, Bonnie (Broderson) Funk; and a very special grandmother Mae Marie Miley (Pesicka).
Sharon attended school at Moxee Elementary, Washington Junior High and graduated from Davis High School in 1968. After school she married Michael Berry and together they had sons Stephen Michael Berry and Aaron Edward Berry (Sarah). She later met Marcus Geddie who was playing with the country music band “Clearwater Country” at the Toppenish Branding Iron. They were later married and together enjoyed country music and dancing. She worked at a few places including: the Squeeze Inn, Zillah, Rosauer’s Bakery in Sunnyside, Zillah Foods, and Yakima Bait Company, but her greatest joy was caring for her home and family. She took great pride in her home and keeping a beautiful yard. Together with Mark they enjoyed trips to Lincoln City, Oregon and the Oregon Coast. She had a gift for drawing people to her and making them feel important and loved. Mark always encouraged her to consider being a schoolteacher. Zachary was her only grandchild and he was the love of her life.
She is survived by her husband Marcus Geddie, two sons, grandson and her siblings: Larry (Flo) Broderson, Virginia (Wylie) Young, Linda (James) Woods, and Pamela (Ronald) Boster.
Public viewing will be Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 10am-5pm at Valley Hills Funeral Home Chapel (2600 Business Ln., Yakima). Private family inurnment will be at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
