Obituary
Rito Medina, 66, of Granger died on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Kadlec Richland Hospital.
He was born on July 27th 1949, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Luis and Gitana Medina. Later life brought him to the small town of Granger. This is where he met the love of his life Gracie Medina in 1971, they got married a year later in 1972. They chose to settle down in Granger and start their family.
He was a gifted and talented handyman that enjoyed fixing anything that was broken. One could say a jack of all trades. Through the years Rito worked in agriculture in the lower valley. He enjoyed being outdoors and was a hard worker.
Those who had the privilege to meet Rito will never forget his ability to make anyone laugh with his incredible sense of humor and his quick jokes. He was always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, especially if it involved putting his handyman skills to work. Rito enjoyed music, having family barbeques and grilling for his family.
Rito Medina is survived by his wife Gracie Medina, daughters Felipa Medina of Sunnyside Wa., Rebecca Alcaraz of Granger Wa., Carmela Gallegos of Grandview Wa., Emma Medina of Portland Ore., Marisela Medina of Granger Wa., and Viola Medina of Sunnyside Wa.. He is also survived by his only son Jaime Medina of Granger Wa. and his only brother Santos Medina of Othello Wa.. Rito leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter Annalise Medina.
A viewing for Rito Medina is scheduled for Wednesday, March 30th at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside WA, from 4-8pm. A rosary in his honor will follow at 6pm. His funeral will be held on Thursday March 31st, starting at Valley Hills Funeral Home at 10:00 am followed by the burial at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, WA.
