Mary “Jeanne” Hanes On the morning of Sunday July 11, 2016 Mary Hanes, age 89, passed away peacefully under the care of the loving staff of Sunnyside Community Hospital. “Jeanne” as she was known to her friends and family, was born in Detroit Michigan and spent her youth traveling the country with her beloved late husband Leland “Lee” Hanes and her children. In 1976, after years of exploring the country and touching lives with her spirit, Jeanne moved to Sunnyside Washington and fell in love with the welcoming community. Jeanne was proceeded in death by her parents, several brothers and sisters, her loving husband, and her son Eric. Jeanne is survived by her brother Jim and sister Judy and their spouses, her son Garry, his wife Edie, and their children; her daughter Kathi Ritchie, her husband C.A. Ritchie, and her children Rochelle and John Burroughs, Ryan and Melissa Clapper, and Kristin Raven; and by her daughter Mary Fleming, her husband Frank and their children Eva and Levi Hawes and Thomas Fleming and his partner Danielle; and her late son Eric and his wife Nora’s children Danielle and Corey Ohm and Brant and Julie Shimko, her church family at Calvary Conservative Baptist church, and 17 great-grandchildren To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Mary Hanes, please visit our flower store.
