Louise Monica Osentowski, 91, of Wapato, WA, gently passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Emerald Care nursing facility in Wapato. She was born February 23, 1924 in Bellingham, WA, the daughter of Ralph and Tena Riffe.
Louise grew up in the Yakima Valley and raised her children in Copalis Beach and Vancouver, WA. She obtained her Cosmetology license, helped introduce Aloe Vera to the region, held numerous jobs, and greatly enjoyed her years working as a grocery checker at Safeway. Louise maintained her faith as a Jehovah’s Witness for the past 40 years and spent her final years at the Emerald Care facility enjoying wonderful friendships with fellow residents while being well cared for by many loving staff members.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Charleen L. Maier of Parker; her son, Charles W. Strawn (Lorrie) of Portland, OR; her son, Andrew D. Strawn (Maryann) of Vancouver; her son, Larry E. Osentowski (Shellie) of Washougal, WA; eight grandsons, four granddaughters, and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Tena; her brother, Carl; her husband, Charles (Red); her husband, Ed; and her daughter, Gail Marie.
A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family. Louise’s family requests that, in lieu of flowers or other gifts, donations be made to Emerald Care.
