Our beloved brother, son, uncle, grandfather and friend, Ignacio Limon, “Jr.” age 60 of Yakima, WA went in the arms of our Lord on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at Cottage in the Meadow, Yakima, WA. Jr. was born on March 15, 1959, in Brownsville, TX to Ignacio and Siria Limon. In 1959 the family moved to the Yakima Valley from Brownsville, TX.
He received his education in Sunnyside, WA, and Granger, WA until going into the work field. Despite being born with polio, Jr. was a hard working person - pushing himself at a young age to be able to walk. He never let the disease keep him from living a normal life. He worked alongside his family on their family farm and many agricultural farms jobs as well. He went to work for Twin City Foods in Prosser for many years until they closed down and then went to work for Baker Produce in Buena, WA until he retired. Jr.’s favorite pastime included camping with his family, gardening, woodwork projects and his word search puzzles. He also enjoyed family gatherings for BBQ’s, birthday parties and holidays. Jr. was a very loving person and always willing to help a person in need; he will be truly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Tina, his daughter Angela, his son Ignacio III and granddaughter Megan, four sisters, Guadalupe “Lupe” Casillas and husband Nicandro, Graciela Aldaco and husband Cecilio of Granger, Maria Limon of Yakima, Rita Larios of Grandview and sister in law Luisa Gonzalez of Zillah; 3 brothers, Jose A. Limon of Zillah, Pablo Limon of Granger, Patricio Limon and wife Lucy of New Bedford, MA; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends who are considered family at all gatherings Judy and Olga. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Jose R. Limon, his brothers Carlos and Albert Limon, nephews Jaime Barajas and Emilio Elizondo and great niece Nevaeh Elizondo.
Viewing and Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 5:30 PM at Valley Hills Funeral Home - Sunnyside, WA. Services will be held on July 19, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Valley Hills Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside, WA.
