Alicia Marroquin born February 3, 1942 in Edinburg TX to Caramelo and Genoveva Lopez, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on July 22, 2019 in Sunnyside, WA.
Alicia was raised and educated in Edinburg TX before meeting and marrying the love of her life David Marroquin on May 17, 1964. They moved and settled in the Yakima valley where they raised their four children.
Alicia worked and retired from the Granger school district as a para educator.
Alicia loved her children and all her grandchildren unconditionally and she looked forward to spending every chance she could with her family; she will be deeply missed by us all.
Alicia’s hobby included the occasional trip to Legends Casino with her sister and comadres.
Alicia is survived by her four children Gloria Marroquin, Linda (Frank) Calderon, David (Lisa) Marroquin Jr, and Guadalupe Marroquin; her grandchildren Cassandra Marroquin, Trent Roybal, Kamilia Calderon, BreeAnn Calderon, Frankie Calderon, Eric Marroquin, Nicole Marroquin, Esther Estrada, Steven Estrada, Jacob Marroquin, Nathaniel Marroquin, Vincent Marroquin, Victoria Marroquin, Vanessa Marroquin and numerous great grandchildren; her sisters Rachel Arevalo, Angelita Perez, and Teresa Alcala.
Alicia was preceded in death by her husband David Marroquin her sister Cecelia Espinoza and her parents Caramelo and Genoveva Lopez.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 6-8 pm and services will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 10 am at Valley Hills in Zillah, WA Reception to follow burial
