Mary (Izzett) Durham, 64, of Yakima, passed away on September 27, 2011, surrounded by family, after her courageous 3-year battle with cancer.
Mary (GMa) was born September 10, 1947 in La Grande, OR. She graduated with honors from Healdsburg High School in 1965 and obtained her Medical Technologist degree from Sacramento State. Mary moved to Yakima and began her 33-year career as a lab technologist for Yakima Regional Hospital.
She spent her life enjoying her family, friends, and especially in recent years, her three grandchildren. Mary participated in many community activities, such as the Women's Century Club, Women's Republican Club, and church ministry.
We will miss her witty sense of humor, young heart, and positive attitude. Her unselfish and generous acts of service will carry on with her memory. All that knew Mary would agree that she is now dancing in the presence of God.
Mary is survived by her sons Brad (Marissa) Durham of Yakima, and Scott (Jamie) Durham of Tijuana, Mexico, as well as her grandchildren, Trenton, Riley, and Hunter Durham. She is also survived by her siblings Karen Skultety of Willits, CA, Pam (George) Olsen of Yakima, Bob (Linda) Izzett of Santa Rosa, CA, Alison (Charlie) Morales of Puyallup, WA and Janet (Sean) Lambert of Chula Vista, CA. Mary also leaves numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, whom she showered with unconditional love.
She was preceded in death by her parents Al and Dorothy (Ballard) Izzett.
A sincere thank you to the staff at Yakima Regional Home Health & Hospice, as well as Washington Hematology-Oncology, with a special thank you to Dr. Albert M. Brady for his devotion and devout wisdom as he cared for Mary.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 29th, 2011 at Yakima Foursquare Church.
