Courtney Copeland
Born to Elbert & Margaret Weaver Nov. 11, 1947 in Yakima, Wa. She passed away September 13, 2011 at home in Naches, Wa. surrounded by family and friends who loved her.
She is survived by her daughter Mary King (Dave), San Antonio, Tx., beloved grandson Nathan King, Yakima, Wa., beloved granddaughter Alexa King, San Antonio, Tx., by her mother Margaret Martinez , Naches, Wa., brothers Robert Weaver (Linda), Yakima, Wa., Hobart Weaver (Janice), Corpus Christi, Tx., James Weaver (Teresa), Yakima, Wa., Jonathan Weaver (Linda), Anchorage, Ak., sisters Hollie Crawford (Ronald), Yakima, Wa., Tracy Brachtenbach, Naches, Wa., numerous nephews and nieces, special uncle & aunt & cousins, Arnold & Madalyn Duitscher & their children, of Thornton, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her father Elbert Weaver and her sister Julie Gamache. Courtney retired from her work as a guard at the men's state prison in Salem, Oregon. Her charitable interests were the shelter for abused women and the humane society. Her family appreciated the great help from Hospice to keep her at home, especially the caring wonderful kindness shown by Deb, Kate, and Tana to Courtney and all of us. And I know Courtney would have wanted her personal butlers thanked. Shoe String the loyal black lab should be mentioned for the late night visits, and company.
Thank you to North Star of Yakima, and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance for their fine medical care. According to her last wishes there will be no services held. Valley Hills Funeral Home of Yakima in charge of arrangements.
