Donna M. Craig, 82 of Yakima, passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2011 at home.
Donna married Raymond Craig and they made their home in Yakima. She worked as a Master Seamstress and in difficult times took in clothing for alternations to support the children.
Donna was proud of her Scotch/Irish/Scandinavian heritage and what it took for them to get to America in the mid 1600's to mid 1700's. She was what would be considered a super soccer mom for her children.
Donna was raised in Southern Idaho. At one time, during the depression, they lived on a farm on the rim of the high part of the Snake River. She kept the depression days alive which reminded her children of how thankful they should be.
She had a slew of adages she used to make it through rough times. Every cloak has a silver lining. She was an excellent cook.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond F. Craig of Yakima; a son, Kenneth Craig of Yakima, a daughter, Marilyn Craig of Yakima; a brother, Walt Prentiss of Jerome, ID, a sister, Laurel Jennings of Prineville, OR; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two children, a son who passed away at the age of 22 and a daughter who passed away at the age of 53.
Family Services will be held at a later date. Valley Hills Funeral Home, Yakima, is in charge of arrangements.
My dear Aunt Donna. Just last month I made a wall hanging from one of your braided rugs. I've had you in my thoughts. You were so creative with your sewing and crafts and I loved your sense of humor. I will miss you. I picture you and Mom having a good time together. Love and prayers to Ken and Marilyn and family. Barbara McDonald
