Jack Adelbert Pettie, 83, of Selah passed away Monday, November 2 at home.
Jack was born Oct. 9, 1926 in Selah to David and Mildred (Crawford) Pettie. He attended Selah schools, then served in the U.S. Navy. He married Carrie Anderson and they have made their home in Selah since 1950.
Jack worked as a milkman for 37 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed riding horses, raising miniature donkeys and snowmobiling.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carrie of Selah; two sons, Jack (Vivian) Pettie of Georgia and David Marshall Pettie of Selah; three daughters, Judy Marie (Leroy) Russell, Linda Sue (Michael) Quigley, and Carleta Ann (William) Teaford, all of Selah; a brother, James Arron (Harriett) Pettie of Selah; a sister, Mary Lou (Roger) Devoir of Richland, 8 grandchildren, Christine, Pat, Sharon, Jeff, Jason, Stacie, Chad and Shonda; and nine great-grandchildren, Jackson, Kailey, Tate, Tyler, Rylie, Madelyn, Cooper, Addisyn, and Jack.
The family wishes to offer special thanks to Dr. Albert Brady, Dr. Stina Singel and Kari Brewer for their outstanding care of Jack.
At Jack’s request, there will be no formal services. Family and friends are invited to join together Saturday at 1 p.m. at 2225 Selah Loop Rd. in Selah for a celebration of his life. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society in his name. Send condolences at www.valleyhillsfh.com.

I was sorry to learn of Jack's passing, and sorry that I never had a chance to meet him and talk 'donk'. I'm sure he was one of the good guys. My prayers are with you. Judy Corey TDC Ranch Miniature Donkeys Ellensburg, Wa.
