John Angel Morehead
John Angel Morehead, 49, of Yakima, died on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

John was born on June 21, 1962 in Seattle, WA but spent most of his life in Yakima. He also attended schools in Yakima. He had numerous jobs but his favorite was as a hairstylist. In 1992 he married Sheryl Kelly. He enjoyed fishing and camping, white-water rafting, and country music. Although he was not of Indian descent, he embraced the Indian culture. He enjoyed participating in the Sweat Lodge, Pow-Wow’s, and drumming.

He is survived by his father and mother, Art and Sharon Morehead of Yakima; four brothers, Joaquim Morehead of Yakima, Adam Morehead of Seattle, Arthur Morehead, and Eugene Morehead, both of Denver, CO; and two sisters, Loraine Gutierrez of Denver, CO, and Barbara Lucero of Greeley, CO.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Louise Morehead of Yakima and maternal grandparents, Charles and Pauline Hert of Yakima.

So sorry for the loss of your son Art and Sharon. I didn't know John very well but Adam and I knew each other. I know your family are very close and he will be missed be all. He is in a better place then us now but the pain will linger in our greed. Adam it would be great to here from you. I love you all
I am sorry to hear about John's death.
I met John back in the 1980's through the the local music scene. He played with some other friends of mine.
John was more than just another cool dude that played the drums, he had heart.
We weren't close friends, but being a drummer myself had made another type of comradely.
The last I saw John was in 2002. I watched Jeepers Creepers at his house.
I am curious what the cause of death was.

Dear Morehead famy
We want to extend our condolences!! My sister and I had the pleasure to have known and worked with John a talented, charismatic, friendly caring wonderful person!!! John was funny, fun to work with always a helping hand!!
We were devastated by the news of his death! Even though it has been a while since we had seen him we will miss him!
What a blessing to have known him he will be forever in our thoughts and our hearts!!
