Debra M. Lewis
After a two-and-a-half year battle with ALS, Debra M. (Brunker) Lewis passed on June 23, 2011 at the age of 60. She was born on March 1, 1951, to William Thomas and Dicy (Boden) Brunker in Spokane, WA. She spent most of her life in Yakima and graduated from Davis High School in 1969.

Debra was a loving mother and a grandmother and had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved anything that involved being outside in the sun, including gardening, camping, and collecting rocks along the river and the beach. She loved to take trips with her friends and did so every chance she could. She worked for twenty-five years for Dr. Schlesinger and the last ten years for Medical Center Lab.

Debra is survived by her father, William Thomas Brunker of Yakima; her life partner, David "Joe" Lewis of Yakima; son, Jacob Bryant (grandson) of Yakima; step-son, David D. (Sarah) Lewis of Auburn, WA; daughters, Tiffani (Gary) Karnes of Yakima, and Jennifer (Bruce) Lewis of Yakima; brother Michael Brunker of Renton, WA; honorary nieces, Lindsay Carter of Yakima and Katie Antles of Yakima; nephews, Cody Brunker of Renton, WA, John Adams, Jr. of Portland, OR, and Rod Adams of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Tayor, Jordan, Cece Marie, and Elijah; close friends, Mary, Debbie, Marv, Deb, Jill, Janet, Sharon, Nancy, Wanda, Kris, and beloved dog, Roscoe who never left her side.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Nora Boden; her mother, Dicy Brunker; and her brother, John Adams.

A memorial celebration will take place on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Yakima with reception to follow the service at the American Legion Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS Foundation or the Diabetes Association.
Send Condolences.
