Trilla Ortega
December 17th 1955, Trilla Holeen Ortega slipped into the room, in Mountain Home, Idaho. She was born to Finis Knight (Jack) Harper and Helen Marie Harrington (Rockwell). The youngest of Helen and Jack's children, Trilla was loved from the start. Her father was a man of many trades; that, along with a commitment to his family caused him to bring them along whenever, and wherever the work took him. Trilla and her family have lived in many states including Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Nebraska, Texas and Idaho.
Trilla, like her father, dabbled in painting and other artistic endeavors, but it would seem that Trilla would surpass his talent. She worked in many mediums, and it has been suggested that her coal renderings had such life, that you could almost smell the earth and sweat depicted in her drawings. Trilla loved her art, for it's own sake, and loved to share her talent and experience with those who shared her love of art.

Trilla was first married to Steve Barton in May of 1973 in South Dakota, and had two children Brandy, her oldest and only daughter, and Steven, her oldest son. She was married for the second time to Gregorio Ortega in May of 1986, and had two more children, Rick and Shawn.

She loved many things, but what she loved the most was her family. She was willing to do whatever it took to make them happy, including giving up her only jacket and walking to work without warmth in the snow so that they could be warm. Trilla worked very hard her whole adult life to raise and take care of her children.

Just hours before she passed away Trilla had the opportunity share a goodbye message to her friends and family.

“Hi Everyone, Its been a long time since I have been on here. I don't usually post anything, but there are things that I need to say... These last couple of years have been very scary for me. I don't really talk about it... Today I just needed too.

To my family, I do love each and everyone of you, I don't say that enough.

These health issues have been a very long fight, most of the time I am in there kicking and fighting... I know that I make jokes about my ford heart, but now I really need your support. I know that you love me, but sometimes I need a little more... If I haven't been there for you please forgive me. You know that I would do anything that I can for you. I'm not physically able but I can listen... There is nothing more to say... Thank you for listening”

On July 21st, 2011, with this lasting memory, expressing her heart for her loved ones, Trilla slipped into eternity.

Trilla is survived by her daughter Brandy, and her three sons, Steven, Rick and Shawn; her grandchildren Tiffany, Angelica, Ruma, Jose, Kaleb and Roman; Her sisters Wodena and Jackie and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her father Jack and mother Helen.

“Death is nothing at all
I have only slipped away into the next room
I am I and you are you
Whatever we were to each other
That we are still

Why should I be out of mind
Because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you an interval
Somewhere very near
Just around the corner”
Send Condolences.
