Ellen T. Mallonee
Ellen Therese Mallonee passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on January 12, 2012.

Ellen was born to Roy and Ann Neer on December 23, 1949 in Chehalis, WA, where she was also raised, as one of five children. Ellen graduated from high school in her home town of Chehalis and then ventured east to Yakima, where she enrolled into the nursing program at YVCC. Subsequently, she completed nursing school and elected to remain living in Yakima, where she met a modest, yet caring man, Dennis Mallonee. Later, Ellen and Dennis married and began an unrelenting commitment and an enduring relationship, one that reached 39 years in October, 2011; although spiritually, people that know the couple understand their relationship is forever lasting. Ellen and Dennis then began a family in 1976, giving birth to Justin Roy Mallonee. Three years later, their second son, Chris Dennis Mallonee was born. From this point forward, Ellen utilized her many talents by demonstrating remarkable compassion as a caring spouse, a loving mother and grandmother, and as a highly regarded registered nurse and community activist. Ellen accomplished and achieved many things throughout her life. She took great pride watching the development of her two boys as they matured into men. Additionally, Ellen enjoyed every moment spent with her two adored grandchildren. And, lastly and most prominently, Ellen lived every day, cherishing the man she chose to be her husband. Ellen's genuine care for all people and unparalleled enthusiasm about life touched and enhanced countless lives. Ellen will forever be considered a person with many gifts, but more importantly, Ellen will be remembered as a person who bestowed her many gifts onto others.

Ellen is survived by her husband of 39 years, Dennis Mallonee; two adult children: Justin (Brenda) and Chris (Amy) Mallonee; and two granddaughters, Emma Sue and Anna Lee Mallonee. She is also survived by three sisters and one brother: Annie Vasilauskas, Mag Hennessey, Catherine Heilman and Ralph Neer.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ann Neer, and her sister, Jane Belanger.

A memorial service to celebrate Ellen's life is scheduled for January 21, 2012 at St. Paul's Cathedral Church in Yakima WA. The service will commence at ten o'clock in the morning, immediately followed by a reception at St. Paul's Cathedral Church. The address of St. Paul's Cathedral is 1214 West Chestnut Avenue Yakima, WA 98902-3121.
Send Condolences.
