Vona Clement
Thursday, January 18th, 2012 the world lost a wonderful woman, as Vona Dixon Clement of Yakima completed her mortal probation at the age of 85. Even through years of physical pain and depression Vona was known to all for her kind heart and love of children. She especially loved spoiling her grandchildren. She had natural musical talent, with a beautiful singing voice and her gift of playing the piano by ear. Many admired her beautiful flower gardens. Those who knew Vona admired her physical and inner beauty. She had a beautiful smile, a great sense of humor and was a gracious, grateful and sweet woman. She will be greatly missed.

Vona's meticulous attention to detail made her a remarkable secretary throughout her working career. People were amazed at her skill with the lost art of short-hand. A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Vona served faithfully in many callings including: Relief Society President, Stake RS Workday Leader, Asst. Ward Clerk, scribe to the Stake Patriarch, Secretary to the Bishop and Ward Historian.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years J Lee of Yakima, their son Darvin (Denise Larkin), four granddaughters Erin (Russ) Chatwin, Ashley (Justin) Rush, Lindsey (Thomas) Giles and Briana (Ivan) Pascual, four great-grandchildren, two brothers and one sister. She was predeceased by her infant brother Wilmuth, her mother and father Nellie (Fuller) and George Dixon.

A funeral service will be held at the LDS Church, 705 S. 38th Ave. on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 10 a.m. with a visitation starting at 9 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will follow at Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima. Arrangements are under the direction of Valley Hills Funeral Home. A heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff at CWCMH, Dr. Tollver's office and Yakima Regional for their loving care of our dear Vona.
Send Condolences.
