William "Bill" Sherwood Gibbs, 59, of Yakima died SundayDecember 4. Mr. Gibbs was born in Yakima. He worked as a heavy-equipment operator for Star Rental.
Survivors include two sons, Marty Gibbs of Yakima and Dallas Brabant of North Carolina; a sister, Janice Leonard of Yakima; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.

Doing some genealogy work online today, I typed in Sherwood's name and was shocked to find Bill's obituary. When my parents, Pete and Marlene Jackson, visited Sherwood and Rosemary so many years ago, I remember a tall, strapping young man with lots of blond hair. I'm so very sorry for your family's loss.
