Oramel M. Carpenter, 82, of Yakima died Thursday, December 1, at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Mr. Carpenter was born in Flint, Mich., and lived in Ferndale before moving to Yakima six months ago. He was a carpenter in the construction industry for many years.
Survivors include a son, Kevin Carpenter of Yakima; a stepson, Rod Carpenter of Vancouver, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Joyce Case of Vancouver; two brothers, Gary Carpenter of the Tri-Cities and Cork Carpenter of Renton; three sisters, Sue Schock of Kennewick, Dorane Taylor of Coalville, Utah, and Gay Farrow of Cordele, Ga.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.
