Margery Roland Wagner
Margery Rolland Wagner died at Willow Springs Care in Yakima, Washington on August 8, 2011. Margery was born in Tacoma, Washington on October 4, 1918 to William H. and Sigrid R. Wettroth. Her mother died when she was only 11 months old and she was then adopted and raised by her maternal grandparents, the Rollands.

She was educated in Tacoma and trained as a legal secretary. There she met her husband, Walter A. Wagner and they were married on February 25, 1938. The couple subsequently moved to Everett, WA, where Walt practiced optometry for three years before moving his practice to Yakima. They found Yakima to be an ideal place to settle and raised a family.

Margery became active in her childrens' school activities and was president of the Gilbert School P.T.A.

In 1958 the family moved to a ranch in Terrace Heights where she helped Walt develop an apple orchard and vineyards.

Margery had a love of gardening and flower arranging and was active in the Terrace Heights Garden Club. She was also an avid golfer and enjoyed many years of golf with friends at the Yakima Country Club. Walt and Margery loved boating and enjoyed many family vacations in the San Juan and Gulf Islands. When Walt retired they spent summers boating in the Northwest and winters golfing at their home in Palm Desert, CA. After Walt's death Margery returned to Terrace Heights to be near her five children.

She is survived by her children: Joan and husband Ron Ham, children Eric and Brad; Brian Wagner and wife Kay, children Karl and Kristin, step children Matt and Johnell; Sherron and husband Herb Koreis; Philip Wagner and wife Melanie, children Nichole, Ryan and Jennifer; Helen Wiggins and children Jason and Emily; and a half-sister, Dottye Dyer. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren.

Margery was preceded in death by her husband Walter and her parents.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Deb Good and her staff at Willow Springs for the outstanding care and compassion given to our mother.

A memorial service for Walter and Margery will be held on Friday, August 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the Valley Hills Funeral Home chapel in Yakima. A graveside committal will follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
Send Condolences.
Brad will always remember his grandmother and grandfather with fond memories kept close in his heart. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know her these last few years. She was a dear sweet lady. With Love, Brad, Trisha, Kyle and Dallas McClellan
