Lucia Rodriguez beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother passed away with her family by her bedside on August 23, 2011. She was born on September 8, 1930 in Encinal Texas to Jose Rangel and Trinidad Reyes. She moved to Sunnyside Washington in 1951 with her husband Nieves Rodriguez and family. In the late 60's mother started working in vegetable and fruit warehouses. She worked for Mojoinners and Andrus and Roberts packing plants for many years. She finally retired from work in the early 90s.
One of the things mother liked to do after all her children left the house was attending los bialas mexicanos with her husband Nieves. She liked the outdoors, like to go camping and hunting with her partner and son Rudy. She always enjoyed visiting and cooking for the family and friends at family gatherings. She always made sure that no left hungry.
Lucia is survived by her four daughters; Maria Delgado (Frank) of Texas, Dalia Lemos (Joe) of Yakima, Carolina Acosta (Daniel) of Yakima and Nelda Plata (Israel) of Sunnyside. Three sons; Gilbert Rodriguez (Amelia) of Yakima, Rodolfo Rodriguez of Sunnyside, and Jose Manuel Rodriguez of Yakima. She is also survived by numerous grand children, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lucia was preceded in death by her husband Nieves, son Daniel Rodriguez and daughter Rosalinda Rodriguez.
