William (Bill) Wayne Pitts, Sr., 71, of Tieton, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009 unexpectedly at home.
Bill was born May 8, 1938 in Cherryvale, Kansas to Wallace Seacrest and Mildred Pauline (Williams) Pitts. He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper, and then worked at variety of jobs with a long career in trucking and had been enjoying his retirement. He truly loved spending time with his family, friends and his dogs.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 55 years, Jean Pitts of Tieton; two sons, William Wayne Pitts, Jr. and wife Becky of Yakima and Timothy Paul Pitts and wife Chantelle of Selah; two daughters Jeanie Pauline Sylling and husband Rob of Selah and Naomi (PJ) Dawn Harter and husband Jeff of Naches; 13 grandchildren: Tim (Wally) and wife Julie, Kelly and husband Jack, Cindy and husband Eloy, Darlene, Bill, Sean, Bryanna, Jeanie Marie, Mike, Gregory, Andrew, Tony and Brandon; 8 great-grandchildren: Allana, Matthew, Tanner, Jordan, Carolynn, Sara, Hannah, Sammy and Isabel and a very special nephew and his wife, SSG Bob Pitts and Lisa and their children Allana Sue, Cheyanna, Zek and Kyle.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Valley Hills Funeral Home, Yakima with a gathering to follow at 223 Westover Drive. Send condolences at www.valleyhillsfh.com.
