Robert M. Jackson, 89, of Zillah passed away at the Toppenish Nursing home Tuesday, August 3,, 2011. He was born October 7, 1921 in Mound Valley, Kansas to Chris and Nora Jackson.
Robert married Opal Coffee April 10, 1942 in Kansas. Together they had 2 children, Bob Jackson Jr. and Diane Donaldson, both of Zillah.
Dad worked for Western Farmers as a truck driver until illness and retired. He was also on the Zillah School board and handed his children their diplomas in 1960 and 1964.
Robert is survived by his daughter Diane (Dave) Donaldson of Zillah and son Bob (Fresca) Jackson Jr. also of Zillah. Naomi Jackson of the Tri Cities, 6 grandchildren; Tami, Craig, Jason, Robin, Jenny, and Chris, and 10 great grandchildren; Paxton, Jaytee, Caitlynn, Hannah, Brook, Marcy, Jessica, Emilio, Zak, Christine.
Dad was preceded in death by the love of his life Opal of 66 years (October 26, 2008). Sister Mildred, brother Marvin, and his parents. Also a special young granddaughter, Stephanie (Stuffie) Jackson.
Viewing is from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. on Tuesday, August 9th at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Zillah. Graveside service will be 10 A.M. Wednesday August 10 at the Zillah City Cemetery.
