Lois Crothers, 84, passed away August 20, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Health Center in Yakima, WA.
Lois was born in Colville, WA on March 21, 1927. Joseph and Bernice (Lewin) Keneifel were Lois's parents. Ron and Joe Keneifel were Lois's brothers; they preceded Lois in death.
Lois was raised in Yakima helping her parents run the Texico gas station-garage and motel in Union Gap, WA. Lois attended Yakima schools and met the love of her life, Lloyd Fleming. They were married on Sept. 24, 1946 and raised two sons. Lois helped Lloyd build houses throughout the city of Yakima. Lois and Lloyd moved to Grandview, WA where they ran Fleming Hardware. Lloyd Fleming passed away on April 1, 1969. Lois loved to do crafts and was an active member of several garden clubs in Grandview and Yakima. She loved music of all kinds and loved to dance. Lois worked for Andrews Cold Storage as a bookkeeper for several years.
She met Ernest Crothers and married him on March 22, 1972 and they made their home in Terrace Heights where they were active members of the Presbyterian Church in Terrace Heights. They had 28 years together filled with traveling, woodworking, and enjoying their neighbors and family. Ernest died on November 18, 1998. In 2003 Lois moved to Grandview once again to be near family. She moved back to Yakima in 2008 until her death.
Survivors are Tracy Fleming (Katherine) of Vancouver, WA, grandson Owen Fleming of Tacoma, WA, Monte Fleming of Grandview, grandson Chris Fleming (Jamelyn) Grandview, Patty Fleming Escobar (Benito) Grandview, Jared Fleming, Washington DC, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
